Can I use a galant Vr4 clutch pedal and master? I am also looking at doing the AWD trans with the Viscous Coupler Eliminator, How well does the tranny fit and can I DD the car with the coupler?

The reason I am asking all this is because A friend totaled his VR4 and will sell the car for cheap.

You wouldn't want to use the Galant VR4 pedal assembly. It uses a different style than a CSM. You have a lever going across the footwell to the clutch master on a GVR4, where-as in a CSM the pedal goes directly into the master cylinder. The CSM design is much better. Is your car automatic now, and you're wanting to convert to 5spd?

Are you planning to use the AWD trans in FWD only? If so, using the VCE won't effect driveability at all, since it's just locking the center diff. If you're converting to AWD and want to use the VCE, then it will effect driveability. Your car will hop and skip around corners and generally not handle very well.

My car is a 1.5 with a cable clutch. Does the stock pedal work for the Galant VR4 master cyl? Can I still use the 1.5 Starter with the 4g? the galants starter is bad.

Gunna go the route with the AWD trans then, and going to stay FWD.

Another Question is, has anyone ever put a Galant/dsm dash in a colt? I have no tach on mine.

You will need to locate all the hydraulic clutch parts from a 5spd CSM. You will need to use the CSM clutch pedal and master/slave cylinders. The 4g15 starter is the same as a 4g63t starter.

People have put DSM dashes in a CSM. It doesn't quite fit right. You'd be better off finding a stock CSM gauge cluster with a tach instead.
