I am not sure what it should be at during a warm idle, but I rebuilt my engine when the pressure was down to 10-15psi at an idle. I know this is too low. I would think it would be ok around 25 psi idling.

A stock engine at idle should be around 15-20psi. The light comes on when the pressure drops below 11psi I think. If the balance shafts are removed, the pressure will go up a bit.

It goes up so much infact that you should port the bypass valve to increase flow. If you don't you may blow out your turbo's oil seals.

Uh oh, that doesn't sound good. I had mine removed about 6 months ago and never did this porting. Please enlighten me as to where the block needs to be ported. Thanxs

I never ported my housing either, and i've been driving around with removed balance shafts for the past 15,000 miles without any problems. I've been using the same turbo the entire time (a PTE, which is notorious for having problems with their seals), and it's still working ok. On a cool morning i see upwards of 120psi of oil pressure and all is well so far.

Best I can find on short notice.

Yeah some people don't have any problems with the high pressure and other people have nothing but problems. I was going to port it just for the piece of mind.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but i don't see anything ported on the oil filter housing. The pics just seem to compare a foward facing filter housing to a stock mount filter housing.

Let's play a little where's Waldo (but without the visual reference - sorry I don't do Photopaint!). Pic of filter housing on the left, upper region inside the main cavities near the large short bolt used to keep in the oil pressure relief spring - there is a rather larger cavity opened up, that is still a perfect circle on the piece to the right.
