Hey, reeeeally new to this old Mirage/Colt thing. I was at MOD 07 at Mitsu NA's HQ in LA and I spotted a 1987 Mirage Turbo for sale. I think it has a 4g32B or something. Or could it have a 61? It says ECI Turbo on the VC. Can I swap on a 4g63 head so its a 1.6L DOHC? I work at Works Mitsubishi and so I have all sorts of fun 63 parts laying around for assorted Evos-- including some Cosworth heads and pistons. If someone could let me know, that'd be outstanding!

Also, what sort of boost would I be able to run on stock components for the track-- I plan on making it kind of a street car/track car with an on/off boost controller. Thanks much!

It has the g32b, as far as swapping a dohc head, I've never heard of anyone doing it, but some have performed an entire 4g63 swap in the c10 chassis.

Well from photos, it almost looks like the engine is way over to the left side of the engine bay, where an Evo is pretty centered, does the engine swap pretty much drop in-- will it bolt up to the original 5spd tranny? I'm Bavarian by blood and Bavarian [Motor Works] by original passion, and from what I gather, all the 4G engines from Mitsu have been pretty much the same. Is this true? I'm an engineer at Works and I deal mostly with getting odd parts to fit, but hardly ever on different engines than the 4g63.

Have you heard of anybody converting to an Evo/GSX AWD? That might be fun down the line!

Are you referring to the evo 8 4g63 or an older (dsm) 4g63?

Do they both sit the same way? I was talking about the Evo's engines, that's ALL we work on-- that and Eclipses, new ones, with the V6, usually supercharged.

The older 4g63s sit opposite of the evos.
