Post subject:  Adding oil return line to NT oil pan

I'm thinking about some ways to maybe get back into my project if no one decides to buy it.

Here are my brainstorming ideas:
1) Drill a hole and install some sort of compression fitting into said hole with a custom line up to the turbo.

2) Have a fitting brazed in place on the oil pan, then the custom line up to the turbo.

Input is appreciated. I've done nearly zero in the way of fabricating anything, so I'm completely open to ideas.

Answer the pm sent, I might have found what you were originally looking for already, just depends on the distance.

Buy an AN bulkhead fitting, drill a hole in the pan with a uni-bit, and crank the fitting in.
Run an AN line up to the bottom of the turbo. 8)

I was looking at the bulkhead fittings in the Summit catalog with that idea in mind. Seal it with some RTV, I assume?

So...
Metric thread nipple fitting on the turbo (or metric to AN adapter, do they make them?)
AN line from turbo to pan - SS braided or hard line?
Bulkhead fitting on pan

not sure if your return line is threaded, or flanged at the turbo? If its flanged, you'll need to probably weld a NPT coupling to a flange so you can get it adapted to AN.

or just drill a hole and weld a nut onto the pan the same thread size/pitch as your an fitting, pretty simple

I've seen this done and it seems like a good way to go.

How do you mean? Flanged vs. banjo?

Go pick up an AN fitting and AN braided lines to run to the turbo, then go to the hardware store and find a nut that the An fitting threads into, drill a hole in the oil pan a little smaller then the nut, then weld the nut onto the oil pan.

here look at his pics:

he drilled and tapped his valve cover to fit AN fittings, but an oil pan isnt even 1/8" thick so there would only be one or two threads if you just tried to drill and tap a hole, so thats why you just weld a nut on

I used a bulkhead 3/8 tubing union for my oil cooler, works good.
