I really havn't had much to report from the car world lately other than living vicariously through Jared's accomplishments in my old rig.

I was on the way home from work and merging onto the highway, its a two lane that merges after about a 500 ft. A TC tried to come around me but a quick flick of the throttle left him behind me. I merged and began cruising at the posted limit. I was messing with my stereo when a car came up next to me and proceded to bump me a couple times. I havn't even tried a radom race in the Maxima for a while and simply wasn't expecting it. It was an '02 TL type-S and he must have seen me shame the TC and wanted some. We were doing 65-70 and I dropped to third and gave him the signal. He hit it and got about 3 ft out before I came ripping (I use this term lightly) back past him and put a good 4 cars on him through 4th. We still had a long clear stretch so I waited for him but he decided his place was behind me. Not much of a win but still fun to have someone pick a fight and get murdered.

Just thought I would share.

Bobby

I was on my way to work the other night and I saw a 08 or newer Maxima (the newest ones) SMOKE a smokey and the bandit edition Trans Am. He was wearing a cowboy hat and his plate said Bandit1. I was crying! He had an exhaust on it. He couldn't even drive it! He hit the gas and chirped the tires and by that time the Maxima was GONE! He was with his girl too. Double ouch...

Yeah, the '09 CVT Maxima's are not joke. There is a guy in FL that has run 13.1, bone stock, full weight and it keeps getting faster each time he goes back.

I will say one thing...those TL's move. That's saying alot for your Maxima. But I've always been partial to the Maximas. It was funny as hell to see that TA get burnt by that Maxima. He was trying to act cool to show his girl how bad ass his car was and instead got smoke by a family sedan...

The TL type-S is a sick car, the newer ones are a really good race for me. Ran doors with on before doing my secret sauce intake mod. Till the new '09 Maxima's came out, the 02-03 Maxima's were the fastest from the factory.

I have run high 14's in mine up here at 5,880 ft elevation, bone stock, full leather, heated seats, heated steering wheel, fully loaded with child seats in the back and about 80 lbs of tools. It weighed 3565 with me in it. I've seriously considered doing a few mods to it but love it just the way it is right now. 27.5 mpg average per tank, drives quiet, 7 speaker Bose system sounds good and only one issue in the 128K miles I've owned it.

I may do a little low boost remote turbo system on it in the future but nothing to wild, just enough to give some built Evo's a scare on the highway.
