ok so today coming from a [car] club meeting we [me & a friend] were headed to the billiards where we always chill
so anyway we're coming off a turn & 2 of friends are going at it with their 2 teggies
1 is a stock '91 DA & the other has a '98 LS VTEC well the DA hits it coming from behind the LS
and the LS floors it & well i see this happening about 5 cars back & decide to go ahead with them
so i was in 3rd maybe around 3K RPM when i floor it. [blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmmmm lol]
i shortshift at 5600RPM all while hitting 17ish PSI [my 87 mirage is COMPLETELY stock]
i hit 4th & catch up with them, then shift to 5th & slowly crept up on them & passed them
the DA is in 4th hitting 8K [he told me after] while the LS wasn't hitting VTEC
so i get 2 cars ahead of them & braked, pretty fun night, you should've seen their faces when i went past them
haha :finga:
this is all while on my speedo we hit maybe 100 MPH?
the driver in the LS told me he was hitting 120 and the one in the DA was hitting 125ish
i REALLY dont know how this happened but it was hilarious

4th gear at 8,000 RPM in any Civic is well north of 100 MPH. I think the 125 MPH is accurate. Kinda funny that your speedo reads so low, you'll have to watch out though.

My 92 DA in 4th gear would top out around 100ish. I could only hit 6750 RPM though on my B18A1 with a YS1 trans.

I am not a Honda guru by any means. But my best friends '94 CX hatch hits stinkin 90 in third gear on the CX trans. He's rocking a 16v non-vtec turbo setup shifting at 6500. I dunno if the trans is different in a '91 but I would imagine that most of the Honda trans in fourth at 8,000rpm would be close to 125mph.

In my 97 CX I hit 90 in third so thats about right. Top of 4th should be roughly 130mph. My fuel cutoff was around there if I remember right. Scared the crap outta me the first time I hit it LOL. If either one of them is running a type r trans then they have a lot shorter gearing.
