I beat a 5.0 Fox body Mustang. I was on my way home from hockey and I pull up next to a real cherry mean sounding fox body and figured to short shift it off the line to keep from being embarrassed. So we're both cruising side by side at 55 knowing if one of us goes the other will so I'm trying not to raise his interest, but I managed to by getting on it in fifth to climb a small hill. I hear him kick down so I figured hell might as well, I throw it in 3rd and floor it expecting to see tail lights shortly. Strangely enough I see him falling behind so I roll down my window and I can hear him at full bore trying to keep up. I kick fourth and run to about 90 and I have about 1.5 lengths on him, when I shut it down he went flying by me and never stopped... I think I hurt his feelings. Haha tell me if I should believe myself here or not. I'm on an 11b at 15lbs and 450's with a SMIC and 1g MAF. Oh and the blue wheels and some stickers of course.

maybe you got a really good jump on him and he couldn't catch up but ive seen them foxbody stangs run from 10sec -15 sec quarter miles. It might have looked good but maybe stock.

Recipe for a mean sounding Mustang of any generation:

1 Mustang
1 Hack saw/Sawzall/Cutoff wheel/torch/my mom's pork-chops
4' exhaust tubing
4 exhaust couplers (Autozone brand of course)

Place Mustang on blocks and cut the catalytic converters off. Cut your exhaust tubing to size. Clamp correctly sized tubing in place.

Result: Car is now probably very loud and sounds great! But is not much faster and is especially not faster than a Turbo CSM from a roll.

Yeah after some research on them I'm guessing he most likely had a very loud exhaust and some sort of aftermarket intake, cuz I could defiantly hear the thing breathing which stock air boxes usually have silencers. So I'm claiming a kill here on a 302 fox body! Plus I'm cheating using forced induction vs N/A up here.

It's the Mustangs that have truely been built that you haev to watch out for. But the same can be said about any car. There are posers and guys that are scared to modify it. Then there are nut jobs that are out driving low 11 high 10 or faster cars on the street. lol

Its honestly not hard to believe at all. Especially at this elevation, those things nearly stock are complete turds. Even supercharged ones with basic bolt-on's struggle to run high 13's...trust me, I know several that can't get out of the 14's with a basic bolt on Vortech V1.
