Chris. It's my fault really. I was always under the assumption that 4g61 non turbo wiring was 91-94, probably becuz we got these models (C62A chassis) around that period here from Japan. So when I got the setup from the front-cut in 2003, i said right, i got me a 91-94 setup.

It's only when we had the problems with the 2gMAF and ECU (91-94) last week did we realize that its actually 1990 wiring and electronics.

But ToGarret's suggestion to swap over just the coils sounds like a good plan if I ever need to, so no issues there.

By the way, car's running sweet, breaking in at 9psi and 11 A/F ratio in boost, zero timing adjustment off base.
Full tuning soon, shooting for 280ish at the wheels at 15psi.

haha..thanks. but already got 2-3 folks interested and currently sourcing a 2004 Toyota Corolla...i think im all done for now :cry:

so im confused and i need help. The white wire from the TACH FILLER that is suppose to connect to the dash is connected to the PTR plug right now. Do I disattach it from the PTR plug and wire it into the dash wire? If yes, then how do I know if the PTR is connected to the ECU?

I tried following the wire from pin 109 and it keep going and goes thru the firewall before it splits, what am i suppose to do?

kay its easy,

you just have to make sure the PTR tach wire (its written like "TCH" on the PTR) is connected to the ecu pin #109

the tach filter needs to be connected to the coils as per lilevos link, then you need to run the tach filters white (i think, its written on it) to the dash.

im sure i've written this like three or more times :)

you can check with a multimeter (continuity test) if pin #109 is connected to the PTR.

ok now but now i have the problem that i cant find where the wire from pin 109 goes to a "Y", you said a few inches but i kept searching up through the firewall is where i stopped.

maybe in your wiring loom it doesnt split off :?

can you find that dash plug that lilevo talks about, see if you can back probe from that plug to pin #109

if that has continuity then it splits off, if it doesnt, just run the tach filter directly to that dash plug, same as lilevo did.

just make sure pin #109 get its tach signal from the PTR

That plug is still in your car, I didn't cut anything out when I did the swap. I simply made a "connector harness" out of the leftover male and female plugs from the Colt and the Laser so that everything would plug right in. This way very little hardwiring was needed.

I'm assuming Jason just used a red wire to tie into the dash tach wire by the looks of his pic. Find that same white wire that he is referring to on the black Colt connector and you are good to go.

Under the carpet, by where the passengers feet would go. Kinda behind the glove compartment but lower.
