i just wanna know who here is running the GC coilovers and KYB GR-2 setup????

I have the GR-2's and im gonna go to ground control this week to get coilovers custom fitted for my car....

Just wanted to know what spring rates should i use??? cuz i dont really know how stiff the GR-2 shocks are, and i wanna give the car a 1.5- 2 inch drop.... and still retain somewhat of a comfortable ride....(even though i know the more u lower the car the less comfortable the ride is)

I know most people tell me to go with the AGX's but im gonna try to work with what i have for now....

Any input would be greatly appreciated.... :)

I have ran this configuration before (shocking) :) They were ok for the first month but then the car started getting REALLY bouncy with that configuation. I don't think the GR-2's have enough dampering built in to handle the high spring rates. You could you a lower spring rate and compensate with more spring length. if you going to do it I would recommend. 8" 250lbs/inch for the front and 8" 175lbs lbs rear that should give you what you want. I have never run those rate and lengths so those are purely just guesses but it should work ok. Konis are alot better strut when it comes to coil overs. That is why I switched to the Konis because the GR2 got bouncy I think they are more suited for just a plain lowering spring (they use lower spring rates than coil overs) And when you use AGX's it not like having suspension @ all

For the GR-2's I wouldn't go stiffer then 150-175lbs.. If you like a rotating car, then get equal rates all around. Be warned that the backend will spin out quicker then stock.

Also, don't lower more then 1.5" if you want those shocks to last more then a month or so.

so are the Koni's much well suited for lowering than the GR-2's??? cuz then if that's the case then ill just sell mine and save up for the koni's...

How much are they anyways??? and do they have a direct application for our cars or do i have to use the Eclipse AWD/FWD application???

And where can i get them???

Yes, the Koni's are more suited for lowering, and there are some that made for these cars. They can handle a much higher spring rate and are rebuildable by several shops around.

Anthony:

If your not lowering the car at all I assume your using stock springs? if thats the case the GR-2s are a fantastic strut for this application nice tight feeling and not bouncy at all... you'll be pleased with the feeling and the small investment made....

are there any shorter-stroking struts for our cars that can handle lowering and therefor give better suspension travel?

There's a mod you can do to the koni's to give more travel.
