Hey all, I'm swapping out my rack for a 89 turbo rack and I'm replacing all my crusty-arse lines.

The few stores I have gone to tell me they don't do PS stuff.

I was just going to bend my own lines ah-la brake lines. Any reason I can't do this (besides the fact that I can't find lines with the right threads on the end)?

Should I just order the two lines going to/from the rack and run some hose on the return line instead of that whacky cooling loop? (My radiator has an extra coolant passage for oil/whatever and I'm going to use this to free up some space)

I dunno, I'm mainly looking for ideas right now before I order lines from the dealer.

Paul, how high is the pressure in that system? Also, what's the normal operating temp? You don't want the radiator to be acting as a heater instead of a cooler.

no idea how high "high" is... thats why the pressure side will be all metal.

The return side can have rubber without any issues.

I did think of that too with the coolant being a "heatant" instead.

If worse comes to worse I can make my own loop without any problems. That can be some of the unbent brakeline stock that I just put a U in. Instead of going to the nipples on the radiator they can just go to the U loop.

Mainly I need to get fluid to/from the rack. I even have an old _small_ radiator that I can pump it through. It used to be an oil cooler. (around 2" x 7")

$~40 for parts from mitsu. worth it?

Those extra nipples (yes paul I did say nipples) :) on the RAD are for ATF to be run through on the automatic cars.

I guess I'll just have to run an auto tranny then.

:)

Your absolutely right. When i did the rear drum to disc conversion I used dealer E brake cables and the just plugged in and worked what a beautiful thing it was I had use third party e brake cables before on a VW they were the worst thing to work with nothing lined up but the deal one were perfect...
