Should the upper spring perch have a raised portion where the end of the upper portion of the spring rests or should it be flat all around? I have a combination of upper spring perch mounts and not exactly sure what cars they came from. I know the 1g DSM uses an upper perch that has the raised indent for the upper spring end to rest into for alignment, and I've used that in the past without issues. The service manual makes it seem like the factory C50 upper perches do not have the raised indent and a bar is needed to align holes in the top and bottom perches for installation. Thanks!

Well I just answered my own question with a test fit. I installed the 1g DSM spring perch on one strut and what I believe to be the stock CSM spring perch without the raised indent on the other strut. 1g DSM spring perch hits the inner fender well when turning right. CSM spring perch allows free movement. I'll take a closer look at the DSM perch when I remove it to see if it is more oval shaped compared to the CSM perch that looks pretty much circular.

Anyone have 3 stock upper spring perches from a C50 chassis laying around? :D

The perch and lower bracket have alignment holes. Once those are aligned, the spring will sit properly and not contact the inner fender. I too, found out the hard way; likely twice when doing spring swaps. They still use this technique with many strut setups.
