Are the rear calipers for an '89 GT the same as any other mitsu? I need new pads, but there isn't a lot of stuff available. I thought they were the same as an AWD DSM (different brake lines, but same pads) but I wanted to make sure before I purchased anything.

I believe both awd and fwd use the same rear calipers. My fwd dsm rear calipers were a direct bolt on and look the same as my original turbo rear calipers. I used EBC yellow stuff pads and they work great! Also, I believe I'm running rear GVR4 ABT rotors. I don't know what I have on this car anymore lol

I thought the rear rotors might have been the same as a gvr4 as well. I found blank replacements actually labeled for an '89 GT for cheap so I'll probably go with those and then some nice pads. I suppose I'll just bite the bullet and get pads for a 1g DSM for the rear and hope they fit unless someone else chimes in to confirm.

FWD and AWD 1g rear calipers are slightly different. I have 1g FWD rear calipers on my colt now with original GT brackets and hubs with no issues. A few months ago I was doing the brakes on another member's original turbo car and was told by every parts store that I went to that the GT colt rear pads and 1g dsm pads used a different part #. I'm not saying a dsm pad won't work but I do know that the part #'s are indeed different. The GVR4 rear rotors are the same though.
