I looked at the archives on suspension already. I want to have 5 lug hubs.
I read that you can use a 1g knuckle wich i already have i got it for free... But you will get bump steer due to the control arm.
I also planned on running a 3kgt vr4 calipers (very big brakes for a 2300lb car) I get all 4 calipers and rotors for $300
P.S. working on awd swapping the car. Will be a Built motor (not sure what build yet) but will have a twin scroll hx52.. (Maybe a 40) so i will definitely need some stopping power once that turbo spools.

Switch to a DSM front brake setup (89mirageman should be able to help you with that) and use the DSM awd rear frame, that'll give you 5 lug all around. Then follow the DSM upgrade path for big brakes.

I can't help out much more than that as I went with the VR4 big brake setup.

You can try and source some Expo/Summit wagon knuckles and press in new 5-lug hubs and bearings for the front. This will eliminate the bump-steer seen with GVR4 and DSM knuckles. Then you should be able to run the adapter for the 3kgt brake setup up front. AS for the rears they won't work because of the way the 3kgt rear brakes are an internal drum/external disc setup. You need 1gAWD rear brakes with the AWD subframe for the rear (unless you manage to install a 2g rear subframe, more power to ya!)

Thom nailed it on the front setup. Colt Vista, Expo or Summit wagon front knuckles with 1g hubs pressed in.

For the rear head over to www.galantvr4.org and search for the member cheekychimp. He modified some 3kgt vr-4 rear arms and hubs/axles to fit his car and as you probably already know the GVR4 is very similar to the 1g awd dsm.

I've got a complete 1g rear sub frame that I will be using for the rear.
I've got a complete set up for 1g brakes and they are the bigger 1g brakes
And I also have the brakes from my 2g I'm parting out
So at this point find some expo/summit knuckles press in some new DSM hubs
Get the bracket for the 3kgt vr4 calipers run those monsters in the front and leave the rear brakes alone since they are the better 1g brakes
I think the 3kgt brakes in the front will be plenty with how light these cars and how big those brakes are.

At the same time you will want to, at a minimum, install the 1" brake MC from a 3kgt. I installed mine on the stock booster and it works great, but upgrading to a bigger/better booster will help you take advantage of the brakes and stand it on it's nose.

And thank you guys for the help! Much appreciated :) And yes I will be installing the 3kgt brake booster to also!

What better 1g rear brakes are there? Thought all of them were the same?

Once you drill out the tie rod hole and install the tie rod the CSM way, it eliminates most of the bump steer.

I have read about the 3kgt rears, a d the problem with them in a csm is they widen the track 10mm per side. That makes wheel selection tricky. At least if you are wanting to run an 8" wide wheel.

Not to mention the great effect that having a wider rear track versus front track can end up having.

Most cars are wider at the front, due to combatting understeer from what I know.

However, when you see a Smart car roll by .... this all goes out the window.
