Post subject:  Panhard bar - Mustang fits ?

Hi,

I'm looking to replace my old OEM panhard with something more "ajustable".

Does someone know if a mustang (05-14) panhard bar fits ? Does it need to be cut (reduce the length) ?

Any comments, brand, model, review is welcome !

Find out the diameter of the bolt sleeve they insert on either end of that part.

Next, you need to know the length from bolt hole to bolt hole, minimum setting and maximum.

This way you know if you have the range needed (well the minimum length with some adjustment) to be able to use the bar.

If the site does not mention these specifications, you will have to call, or do some IntarWeb searching on ..... dare I say it ..... Mustang Forums!

I was using, until recently, an adjustable 1G panhard. It broke the other day on one of the ends, perhaps because it wasn't the right length (maybe too long or short, no idea?). Anyways, I didn't find any adjustable replacement online and even finding a new one was difficult. After not being able to get a new one from all the major part stores in town and the Mitsu dealer also not having them available, I found a new one on http://www.discountmitsubishiparts.com for 60 bucks. A cheap adjustable one would be nice, though.

If you don't mind a little more noise, you could get a swedged tube and rod ends from speedways motors for less than above.

Does anyone happen to know the length of the stock bar?

Here is the length :

DSM 1G FWD : center hole to center hole = 42 inch
CSM (89-92) : center hole to center hole = 42 3/4 inch

I did a search, but did not find the length of the mustang pan bar. Can anyone help me to find the length ?

You would have to ask someone with a Mustang, like on the forums for 05-14 models.

I searched and could not come up with a difinitive answer, sorry.

Most guys only need to know it's the correct part, and how to adjust it once it is in place.

You have to make sure the end pieces are the correct width to fit the CSM braces they bolt into.

Well, last night I try another time to find the length.

here is the answer of Steeda (panhard bar for mustang) :

----------

Hi Guillaume,
There is about 3 inches of range of adjustment on the panhard bar.
So you could figure it would be at least 1.5 longer or shorter than stock.

Here's more of a universal option. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cee- ... fgodKCcCyQ

Anyone have any luck finding an adjustable that bolts on?

Although I think it would be easy enough to cut and shorten the Mustang bar, if length is the only issue.
