I forget if my summit had these, but on the 1G dsm…and maybe the 2Gs, there is an "S" shaped metal brake line in the middle connecting the 2 rubber brake lines (one to the caliper, one leading through the fender well.

Does this "S' serves a purpose?

The reason I ask is because I have mix of parts I am trying to get to work. I have a 90 FWD laser with 92 AWD rear calipers and am trying to get some "AWD" stainless steel brake lines to work.

The line going to the caliper (in the rear) is about an inch too short. I was going to bypass the "S" line and just connect the 2 SS lines. Also, because I noticed the upper SS line is a male to female and the stock rubber line is a female to female.

make sense?
