have one of the front springs installed with stock struts and the bottom coils are touching with the car on the ground. Is this normal?

Yes.

There will be multiple coils that contact, and if you have live in the rust belt, they will abrade through the paint eventually. They continue to function without any issues however.

I experienced the same thing. Highly annoying, and unacceptable.

Sorry, I misread the post. I am experiencing something different, but still worth pointing out.

My experience is when swapping to these springs, contact was then made between the spring and strut well. Contact may be due to the combination of the increased number of coils in the lowering springs, and the increased thickness of the coils. Camber plates may push the top of the strut out far enough so the spring to clears the strut well, but may compromise the camber of the tire.

Thanks for the info. I'll have pictures after I install the other 3 springs.

There is a rubbing issue when slow speed turning (parking lot, driveway) that will change the alignment making the car pull left or right
or drive straight. For "fun" I flipped the springs so the soft side is up and I get more popping during slow speed turning.
Guess I need camber plates? I wasn't expecting that.

I experienced the exact same thing. I will be ordering camber plates as well.

Are the B&G springs designed for the offset tophats we have? When I was doing my shocks, I cut half a coil from my front springs, and had insane rubbing on the inside of the strut tower cavity. I had to cut another half coil off to bring the tophat back into place, and no more rubbing. If the ends of the coil (top and bottom), aren't in exactly the same place, the tophat will be turned slightly, pushing one side of it closer to the tower cavity.

You may be on to something there. I don't have my stock springs any longer, but maybe Cuda-68 can put the springs next to each other and verify?

I dug out an old stock spring and strut. Looking down on a left side mounted strut from the front puts the bottom strut flange at 3 o'clock,
the bottom end of the spring at 12 o'clock, and the top end of the stock spring at 9 o'clock. From memory and my picture above the b&g top
spring end sits at 1 o'clock when installed.

So removing 1/4 to 1/2 of a coil from the B&G should put the top back at 9 o'clock correct, and move the top of the spring away from the car body. Am I on the right path?

Thanks for the info Broke4speed as I never paid attention to the top hat being offset.

CSM diesel, you would have to cut 1/2 a coil off plus 6-7 cm. I called B&G and they want photos and said don't cut them or I'll void the warranty. They said they could
send a different set out to fix the problem.
