I just got my adapter and installed it today. I got the same Luisi one that Broke4speed has. I had to modify it slightly so I'll post the details. I have a 1G DSM column switch installed on my CSM steering shaft so that's probably the source of mine requiring modification. Also, the spring plunger for the horn switch is not quite long enough to touch the brass ring on the adapter, even after I ground it down shorter. Again, probably due to it being a DSM switch assembly.
Here it is installed.
The plastic sleeve can be slid in/out to get the correct spacing away from the trim that covers the column switch.
I noticed the adapter didn't push down onto the steering shaft all the way, it was close but it bottomed out on the column switch just barely. If I would have tightened the nut on the adapter it would have either crushed the column switch slightly and possibly breaking it or just plain not fit right. So I had to grind off a bit of the base of the adapter.
It was 4/10ths thick. I ground it down to around 3/10ths, maybe slightly less. That's all I needed to get the adapter to seat on the steering shaft. Once the nut was tight holding the adapter onto the shaft, I can now still push in on the springy plastic turn signal release verifying that the adapter was not bottoming out that plastic assembly.
All in all I love it. It fits well and works great.
