That's great info Thank's!
Do people just turn down the boost with this combo?
No. You can run the same amount of boost. It's common to step up compression in these motors. The 2g cars were 8.5:1 from the factory. You can even go 9:1 and not have to worry about what boost you're running, in my opinion. It's all in the tuning. I'd recommend larger injectors for your setup. 550's are kind of small.
I was just looking at a set of 680's ;) lol
What I'm looking to do with the car is run it at Toronto's motor sport track, so I'm sure I'll be changing a lot of things as I go to get the car dialed in better.
What do you think of the higher compression in this application (most guys don't get out of 4th on this track.
I'm guessing it will give me a little more grunt off the line?

The bump in compression is so small that you probably wouldn't even notice it, especially if you're already on a smaller turbo that spools quickly. Guys with huge turbos notice it more because it improves the response out of boost.

If your 1.8L head is the one of the 4g67 it has a head volume of 43cc (instead of 47cc).

Compression would increase to 8,34 (assuming piston dish of ~15cc) and head gasket thickness of 1.3mm.

Many tune their N/A engines with that head and the 4g67 cams they came with here in EU ;)

^Do you know of any good threads with a head swap and results? People talk about it and I know it will work but I just haven't seen it done yet.
I'm going back to the engine shop today,I do almost all of my own work but need them to regrind the valves and seats and deck the head....Assuming He says the head is good to go I'll be posting my build pic's and status updates.

The build is a go!
I ran the Vin# on the block I'm using, it's from a 1992 Plymouth Laser RS
AWD. The head you all know about lol.

I noticed you posted Toronto Motorsports Park.

We ask for a location in everyone's profile as part of the sign-up, just an FYI.

Figure you must be in my neck of the woods.

I guess I missed that some how in the registration process?

Although I did see this:
"Please note that this information may be viewable to other members. Be careful when including any personal details. Any fields marked with a * must be completed."
Location was not marked with an "*" so I didn't fill it in.
It seems there is a contradiction here lol

Likely there is. I haven't seen that screen since 2003/4?

Hate to knitpick. 8)

Ontario, Canada would suffice. Helps us track cross border shopping. Okay, I kid.

Mainly helps when we have people who are likely in RHD regions where clutch masters are on the other side, wiring harness's and ECU's reside on the opposite sides to our LHD models, etc, etc.
You would figure that the same car shipped to a few different places around the world would be very similar, in some ways it is and in others, it's not. Best way for us to keep an eye out for variations.

Also, if sales go bad ... well, tracking people is nice.
