Can we please use this post to put all of the information to swap to a 5 lug set up? Both front and rear.

I know we need the 1992-1995 colt vista knuckles and the 1g dsm hubs and bearings, seals. I also believe this allows you to use regular dsm cv shafts and not the stupid hard to find 89 mirage turbo cv shafts.

Also the 1992 mirage sedan rear hubs, but is there any specific trim level or what?

Part numbers, (factory Mitsubishi) at least and (aftermarket optional) would make the process easier for those looking to do the swap.

Please add info people that have done the swap!!!

Thank you

Check Rockauto for the rear hubs. They sometimes have them on sale, I've seen them as cheap as $35 each. Just search for a 92 Mirage sedan and make sure they are 4 x 114.3 and not 4 x 100. Sometimes on ebay you'll see the 4 x 100 hubs as 92-02 but some of the 93 models were actually built in 92 so that's why.

Also Harvey found a slight problem with using the 92 sedan hubs. Because of the lip on the rear axle stubs on the 3g's it pushes the 92 sedan hub out a little. I believe he used them as they were with no issues but still worth mentioning. You'll have to space the calipers out a bit as well so that they will be centered over the rotor.

The 92 sedan hubs still have to be re-drilled. You can do this by knocking out 3 of the 4 studs and placing a 1g dsm rear rotor (fwd and awd are the same) over the hub. This will let you know where to drill the other 4 holes and give you a guide so that you can't really mess it up.

For anyone drilling out the hubs, please consider a proper machine shop for this process. It's the only thing keeping your wheel properly bolted in place, via the lug centric design and proper clamping forces with EVERYTHING being on center - 100%.

Tim I see your point and I agree 100%. But honestly using the rotor as a guide ensures that they will be drilled in the correct place. To anyone not too sure of their work, I would suggest having this done by a pro.

It looks like the 1992 is a split year do you use the early or late hub?
Thanks

Early, the late 92-02 were 4x100 and won't work. For some reason you see the later hubs everywhere and cheaper too. Just make sure the one you order is from a 92 and 4x114.3 and you have the correct one.

Post subject:  Re: 5 Lug swap

so I have searched like 75 google results and not "1" single link had the bolt pattern... but from rockauto I got 3 part numbers for diff brands... (which is what I googled for the bolt pattern)..

first off over half the sites list this as a 91 and 92. mirage colt summit.. some say sedans..others dont say anything.. with either 1.5 or 1.6 motors..

RAYBESTOS 712037
BECK/ARNLEY 0516076
512037 Moog
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DURA-INTL-295-1 ... 0969772779

so if got the correct info from alllll these multi sites I went to.. then these should be the 2 part numbers for the correct rear hubs.. u can check e-bay or any other parts house for these numbers.

so I looked at the 1.5 models now.. was looking at 1.6 models earlier.. and came across 2 other part numbers.. searching 1 of them ebay has it listed with bolt pattern.. all 4 of these part numbers should be 4x114.3 bolt pattern just different brand and prices..

hope this helps.

Actually I'd be scared to order that one you posted above. The reason being, they list the wagons too. I can tell you for sure that the stub axle on the wagons is larger that the car versions and they are not the same part. I've ordered these hubs from Rockauto a few times and always got the correct ones.

I always search for the 92 Mirage sedan because they never made a wagon version of the mirage. Rockauto actually has the Pro version on sale now for $29.00 ea. Part # 29512037 as well as 4 others that range on up to $75. If you click on the info tab beside of the Moog brand one it actually says 4.5" for the bolt circle which is correct.

Be careful on ebay too, they'll list the 92-02 as being the same but you'll get the smaller 4x100 hub. Some 93's were built in 92 so thats' why they include 92 in there. Hope this clears up some confusion.

The 512037 is what I ordered from Star Auto Parts and matches what MirageMan posted as well.

Do these hubs work with both drum and disk? Is anything else involve in mounting disks? And does it make a difference if your car was a disk brake car to begin with aka factory mirage tubo?
Thanks
