Hi,

I ran FWD with rear disk brake (stock C53a). My rear brake ss line look too much rusty for my "Safety Criteria".

I'm looking to replace these parts (ss line), what are our options (CSM world) ?

Do you know if DSM 1G or 2G FWD fits (rear brake line) ?
Do you use custom line brake line (hydraulic shops) ?
Are there parts that are compatible (ford, nissan, etc)? Basicly, is only a question of length (22.5 po) and fitting (3/16 + eyes bolt)...

Specs I'm looking for :
- OEM fittings
- ss line
- DOT proof (if possible...)

Do you this can be a "good parts" ?

note : I did few search on this forum before posting, but did not found a clear answer. If you found a thread about this subject, please feel free to post it here.

I used SS lines for a 1g FWD DSM back in the day. Perfect fit.

Ask them which FWD option works, as they have two sets of Front lines only, or just buy a whole new set for all four corners.

I haven't used any of them yet, so cannot comment.

Coltixim has Goodridge? on his car, but I don't believe they have seen the road or fluid yet.
His build thread showed the part numbers.

RTMRacing wouldn't be selling bad products, that were not safe.

DOT approved. Just figure out what style you need.

When I re-did my full brake lines. I ran the hard lines all the way from the back and the front I had some ss lines made. The backs, I used the straight line pieces you can buy, I just molded them how I wanted them. That worked great, no leaks.

Oh ! I thought I had already written my setup / choice in this post ... my bad !

I finally bought Russell , p/n 686000. Those lines fits for DSM 1G FWD and 3000GT. And yes, those are DOT proof. And my wallet loves it at only 100$ ! (all 4 lines ; front and rear).

Flying Eagle @ your welcome.

I finally restore my hard brake lines (front and back). The 3 lines passing on the firewall was "tricky" to do with a engine in place, but with a bit of "thinking", everything find is place. The result is pretty awesome.

king_of_the_street @ Question : How did you build your flex line (brake) ? Did you bought -3 An line and AN fitting or did you made custom line at your local hydrolic shop (fitting was press) ?

Here is my work, fitting and passing all those lines on the firewall.

I used regular hard lines all the way from the back brakes to the firewall. I used two five foot pieces, and connected with the remaining length to the back. For the back the straight lines fit the thread, no leaks(everything bent to fit nicely). I had the brakes go up the firewall and I had two ss lines made, at a local place by me. I think a length of 24" and a 28". I'm not sure of the fittings size, I can check, I know they are earls.

We have custom lines made all of the time (and stock the typical ones).

If you have a project that you need a line made for, just call us with the length, fittings needed, size of line, and we can get it made for you.

We just did every brake, clutch, fuel and power steering lines custom for a car in the shop.
