It's certainly not a bolt in application. With some cutting it will fit. Mine is where the ax condenser used to sit

The radiator I bought from O'Reilly came with a threaded plug for that hole :) But, before I installed it I went to PAP and grabbed a few VW temp units from their radiators. I was going to use one just as a plug until I saw the radiator had one (the one I bought from Amazon and gave to my son was MUCH nicer than the O'Reilly's radiator, but did not come wit a plug.

Sorry I'm a little slow. lol 88 Vw Scirocco? Did you get the metal one? How's that working out for you? I wanted to stay cost efficient, but wanted the aluminum or dual because was afraid of cooling issues, but the 58 bucks sounds great! Just checking, it kinda of messes me up, when the colt has parts from different years and makes. It's not as bad as my built eg I had.

If you're looking to use an actual replacement radiator for a Scirocco, 85-89 will all be the same.

What most people use are "Scirocco Style" aftermarket radiators. The best ones to work with are the full aluminum versions. That way, you can replace the undersized inlet and outlet to match the Mitsu sizing (the ones on the radiator are a bit smaller).

It also allows for easier mounting modifications, and adding/removing filler necks and sensor bungs--aluminum is just a lot easier to work with and install cleanly.

I actually have another style radiator coming in this week to see if I can cleanly mount it on my swapped C52a.
