To go along with my thread of installing a 1g DSM column switch into my CSM http://www.4g61t.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=35316 my wire diagrams aren't 100% accurate which sucks when trying to splice wires together. Here's what I've got. For the steering column combo switch on my 89 Colt GT (with no cruise control and only 1 speed intermittent wipers) there are two connectors wired to the switch, C-44 which plugs into the junction block and C-03 which goes to another harness. I have all of C-44 accounted for as follows: ALL of these wires match the service manual diagram.

C-44 pinout
(pin# - color - description)
1) L, Washer/wiper power IN
2) GR, RH turn signal OUT
3) LG, LH turn signal OUT
4) GY, turn signal power IN from relay
5) B, Dimmer/Passing lights ground (also cruise control ground)
6) empty
7) RY, Dimmer/Passing lights High

I am missing info on a couple of pins for the following connector. Here's what I have:
C-03 pinout
(pin - color - description)
1) GW, tail light power OUT
2) G, (green wire on the car but can't find any info on it in the wire diagram, I have the factory service manual)
3) LB, Wiper motor high (power to the motor)
4) empty
5) GR, Head/Tail light power IN
6) GB, Horn
7) BW, windshield washer power to the motor
8 ) R, Dimmer/Passing lights power to headlight relay
9) RW, no info in service manual except a jumper diagnostic section - power to head light LOW beam maybe?
10) LR, wiper motor LOW power to motor
11) LY, ground to intermittent wiper circuit

So my car has a GREEN wire to pin #2 and a RED w/WHITE wire to pin #9 and I can't find any info in the manual what they are for. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My next step is to just use a meter and try to figure out what has continuity in different positions.

Now where my problem gets worse is with the wiring on the 1g DSM column switch itself. There are several wires that don't match the diagrams. However, I don't have a factory service manual for the 1g DSM so I'm using a Chiltons manual and it's not near as good as my CSM service manual. Hopefully someone with a FSM can help me out here. The DSM switch has 5-position intermittent wipers and also cruise control so I'm sure there will be some unused wires for me but I can't verify this with the diagrams I have at hand.

The two connectors coming off the DSM switch are near as I can tell C-07 and C-06. Here is the pinout as I have it.

C-07
1) RW, Headlights LOW beam
2) BW, Dimmer ground
3) LR, Wiper motor LOW
4) LB, Wiper motor HIGH
5) R, Head lights HIGH beam
6) B, Passing lights ground
7) LW, (unknown, maybe wiper intermittent washer?)
8 ) L, (it has a BLUE wire "L", but the manual says BLUE w/YELLOW "LY" and says it's Wiper switch power)

Any help with pins #7-8?

C-06
1) empty
2) empty
3) Gr, (wire is a small GREY wire "Gr", but manual says LW and show it as Tail lights power IN)
4) Purple, (wire is small and Purple but manual says BLACK and show it as Head/Tail lights ground)
5) W, (wire is WHITE but manual says RB and shows it as Head/Tail light power IN
6) B, (nothing in the manual so I don't know what it is)
7) BW, Power to washer motor
8 ) R, (nothing in the manual so I don't know what it is)
9) L, (nothing in the manual so I don't know what it is)
10) empty
11) R, Passing lights power IN
12) R, Head light power IN
13) B, Intermittent wiper ground
14) Y, (wire is YELLOW but manual says GW and shows it as Power going to Fog light relay)
15) GR, Turn signal power IN
16) GL, LH turn signal OUT
17) GY, RH turn signal OUT
18) GB, (nothing in the manual so I don't know what it is)
19) Y, (nothing in the manual so I don't know what it is)
20) W, (nothing in the manual so I don't know what it is)

So as you can see, I need help with pins 3-4-5-6-8-9-14-18-19-20. Again, hopefully a factory service manual will be more accurate. I will also try to figure these out with a meter.

I will browse through my manual but in the meantime you can find the manuals on this site. Its a sticky labeled the 5 W's or something like that. Lilevo puts the manuals up and you can download them for a dsm. These are the factory manuals as well so all of the wires are listed unlike the Haynes manuals.

edit: I can say for sure that C-06 8 & 19 are both for cruise control.

Not 100% on whether or not there are any differences between the 1989 turbo+NA specific CSM manual and the 1989-92 manual, but consider them two resources and you can flip through.
and see for yourself.

Wiring is definately different between 89 and 90+ on the CSM. FYI. If someone has that 90+ CSM manual that would be sweet.

Did you get the wiring down to a science?
