Can somebody take a pic of their hatch release setup at the back of the car? I'm guessing a cable runs to the bottom and somehow trips that tiny pin on the assembly up on the hatch. I'm trying to rig up a cable setup that I pulled from a 4g LS car, hoping they are similar even though the 4g has an actual trunk and not a hatch.

New request, does anybody have a pic of the small metal tab that goes in the gas door? It makes the door pop open when you pull the lever. Mine never had this or it came off. The one on my 4g is different. I'm hoping this piece is still on the one hatch left at the yard but if not I'm hoping it came on other Mitsu's as well.

The 4g levers are identical except for one tab on the top. The 4g one bolts on with two bolts, the 3g just uses one. I cut it off with my cutoff wheel and it worked perfect. I used the 3g cables and the hatch piece though, Natedog happened to have a complete setup laying around but the levers were bad.

Odd, I think the part you are looking for is on the lock mechanism. I'll dig mine up and get a picture...

This part actually snaps onto the fuel door. It's really not part of the levers and cables. It's basically a bent piece of metal and it snaps onto the inside of the fuel door. When you pull the lever and it releases the fuel door this piece helps the door to spring open.

^ nope, its actually a little piece of metal that works as a spring, its where the fuel door bolts to the chassis. I emailed him some pictures earlier of it.
