recently swapped in 9$0 fwd tranny into the colt, used the original starter from the km210 tranny which went hooped

got a 90 talon rebuild starter, 2 weeks later it dies

this one is a brand new 90 talon starter. starts but sometimes it clicks and thats it, put a jumper pack on the battery it starts!

changed batter, alternator, checked all wires to the relocation kit its fine

do i need a thicker guage wire on the starter to give it more juice?
what could be causing this any help will be great

thank you very mucho

How large is the capacity of the battery and do you have any excessive parasitic load (load while the car is turned off) draining the system.

If all of the items check out, I would suspect a problem with the wiring connections somewhere in the system to also include the terminals at the battery top/side. You could have alot of resistance where the power needs to flow through the circuit and/or subsequently you will guaranteed have a voltage loss over such a long cable run from the trunk of the car.

What gauge of wire is the battery relocattion kit wired in with?

the battery has 800 cca, when i crank the car with a multimeter it reads 11volts so it shoud be enough to start the car

the wires are whatever the taylor box relocation kit comes with 12 guage?

hmmmm im goin to wire a push start directly to the starter and see if that is any better

thanks flying eagle!

12 gauge is preety small I used 12 gauge for my fuel pump re-wire. Try using 4 gauge.
