just bought a turbo mirage tach from e-bay. the rpm gauge does not work. is there a way I can test the gauge cluster? maybe by sending some sort of volts to it. I have a original turbo mirage harness. don't know from were. I also have an original 90 mitisubshi eclipse engine with coil pack in my colt. also tried this tach fix link.

http://www.lilevo.com/turbo/tach/body_tach.html

did not work I don't think I should have to use this. because I have a turbo harness, and 90 coil pack with tach filter. it might be a bad gauge cluster. any help would be appreciated. here is the link from were I got it from.

I have tried everything that I know of and seen on here. I want to try it on a car that already is runnning the gauge to see if maybe it it my car. I read back to all of that guys post and I did see that he mention he was having problems but none that said it just did not work. That would be pretty jacked up if he sold me something that he new didn't work. from his post and how long he has been on this sight it doesn't seem like he would do something like that. but I guess you never know. after I determine weither or not the gauge works. then if it doesn't I will get in contact with him.

any suggestions or ideas on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what comment you are refering to... becuase I didn't say he sold me it and it didn' t work. I said maybe it could be my car. and it didn't seem like from his post he would do something like that. and so far I have been on this site and never had a problem. until you made your comment.... I don't need your help. personaly after you made that comment nor would I ever ask for you help from the way I see you treat people. I have used the search engine. obviosly from my first post. that was why I was asking if anybody had any other ideas because I had already exhausted that route. Like I said I am going to try it out on another vehicle and if it doesn't work then I will let others know. and what ever you are probably going to suggest I have already tried...... :finga:

Hey it is Eric. I sold you the cluster. I dont know what the problem could be but maybe a wire is cut or something is shorting out in your harness. I sold the cluster in working condition and would not try to "screw" anyone. Especially on this forum where everyone knows everybody. Try checking your connections and wires and let me know if I can do anything. I also have a tach out of an automatic to make things right if we have to.

I would try jumping a wire directly from the tach filter to the white tach wire under the passenger kick panel. That would eliminate a lot of possibilities.

Sorry if any offense was taken to what I said. it was not ment in any way to down you. thank you for the advice I really appreciate it. it is just that your freind really got under my skin. but I think he likes to get under peoples skin. he tried to turn what I said around and I did not appricate that. because I was not trying to put you out there as you can tell from what I said.

I did try that already, but to make sure I did it right. I wanted to ask you some question. on the tach filter it has two wires that say in and one wire that says out. do I cut the wire or splice it. I cut it then ran a new wire to the tach wire. did not work when I did this. is there a way to test that wire at the cluster wire to make sure it is getting signal? maybe you can tell me the color or pin location in the cluster.
