My '89 Mirage T car's back end feels real loose so I went to get it checked out and found that the trailing arm rubber bushings are worn out. I then found you can't buy these from Mitsu any longer.
S##T--- What do I do now? Anybody have any of these or know where to get them? PLEASE Thanx

Measure the outer diameter of the bushings, the size of the bolt hole, and the width of the bushings. Then you can grab some polyurethane stock and have a machine shop make some bushings for you. If you go through all of this trouble, I'll pay you for a set.

I am 99.9 % sure these are the same as the TEL. Just not sure if you can buy the TEL ones by themselves? I think you can. Check out RRE. Another option is to switch over to a higher strength adjustable bar which would be better if your car is lowered as you can center the axle at your current ride height. Search for "Panhard bar", all the info is in archives.

I thought he was talking about the rubber bushings that hold the trailing arm to the chassis? These aren't the same as the ones that hold the panhard rod in place are they?

Ooops, the main trailing arm bushings are not the same as a TEL, but they are smaller than the TEL so if you are going to turn something down, might as well start with the TEL bushings. I think it was fairly minor difference and that stuff turns really easy on a lathe.

yes the TEL bushings DO NOT fit. they are wider and of larger diameter. the junkyard is the last resort of youre going to look for rubber bushings. if you find a decent set, full them up with polyurethane if possible. if your cool, you could swap out the rear axle from a FWD 1G DSM like i did. they make parts for those, and you get super cool 5 lugs.
