Well I just pulled the ecu out and it looks clean but it did kind of smell like bad seafood. So I am beginning to think its bad. Could the car still get spark if the ecu is bad? What all ecu's are plug and play with my model car(89 colt gt)? I will try and get a pic up to see if anyone notices anything.

Yes it can still get spark. That is exactly what my gt was doing when my ecu went out. You can replace it with any 90 T/E/L turbo ecu. I think you can use 91-94 as well with a few wires swapped...I could be wrong about that too :P

Update: moved to archives. Damills car needed a fuel pump afterall due to the strainer being shredded among other things. I'll try to move the pics shown here to the archives and keep this alive for all to see.
I've backed up all the relative photos through copies and paste to my gallery archive folder. These pics will be here to stay as long as the gallery is up and running.

Here is what the other pump looked like: :rolleyes:
