Well, it was really the car that did. I was a little worried about it because I'd never run it hard for extended periods. This was at Shannonville Motorsports Park about 11/2 hours east of Toronto. We (the group of about 20) had the full course for the day-cost $150 including lunch and door prizes, organized by "Fast Laps". I'd run 4-6 laps and bring 'er in to cool down, etc.
The only other mitsu blew up, a friends tt stealth-took 1 1/2 extinguishers to put out the fire!
Best lap was 1 min. 26 sec, and surprised a lot of cars, which is always fun because it was obviously the oldest and least expensive car there. Have a couple pictures of it in front of a few cars on the front straight, including wrx sti, lotus esprit turbo s, porche 930( only the sti eventually got past the colt, enjoy.Image

Sounds pretty sweet, I was there last year towing my buds YZF 600 Yamaha sport bike. I got to get the Lincoln out for a good long boot but god - the gas prices for premium with a 460!
Just wish I could have had the brick tuned and put it on the track like one guy did with his TDI Jetta; god what some people do for attention. j/k

I did too. The PRRA (Puerto Rico Racing Assoc.) is organizing Solo cross events at the Ponce International Speedway Park in Puerto Rico. The costs range from $75.00 a day or two days for $120.00. In a single day I was able to run 4 heats of 6-8 laps each.

Actually I won 2nd place at my category.

My friend with the porsche 930 informed me that his current project will be on the track and street this year. It is a 457 hp to the crank LS1 in a 944! Good thing I'm installing the evo3turbo on the colt-tho it might still be not enuf!

Unless you find a way to make 450 with that EVO3 turbo, he's gonna crush you on the long straights.
If that LS1 motor is installed and positioned BEHIND the front strut assembly and he gets the suspension geometry right, he's gonna crush you in the corners as well.

If he's really smart, he'll also upgrade to either the 951 Turbo S or the 930 calpers & rotors.

Sounds like his swap is well sorted out, and the aluminium engine is not going to hurt the balance to much. Plus he's got some expensive suspension upgrades and I think 968 brakes.
