Good link and they are about an hour from my house. I'll have to add that to the list for the street car.

Thanks,
Chris

yes, good find. only thing that is see, is the install, that would suck. I made mine and installed it myself, in a fully guted car and it was a bitch. I feel bad for ANYONE that tries to install 1 in a non-stripped car.

Depends really on what your goal with the car is. If it's a street car/autocross car it'd definitely improve your safety level a little but also add a little weight. For any competition vehicle I wouldn't even consider it. It's your life that the cage is protecting. Personally my cage is similar in design to homologated FIA style cages for WRC rally cars. It has a few less bars but we are planning to add a few more. It's also a 7 point cage. My recommendation is to find a reputable local race car constructor and pay them to build it into the car. It's going to be able to be a tighter fit (safer) and your able to have some input.

Having one built into your car is alot cheaper than that too.. I can get one done for $200 with whatever I want.. Only thing is.. you can't get it painted...unless your car is stripped inside and just have your whole interior painted aswell... But I'm cheap so I'de foam wrap it all up...

Dr Jeckyll a.k.a 4G61T engine got the boot long before I bought the car. All that remains is Mr Hyde The 2.0 engine that's in the car
He reminds me of his brutal and obnoxious presence everytime I try to get traction in 1-2 and 3rd gears

The materials alone for a good cage should run around $350-400. 1.5X.120 or 1.75X.095 is all we do for sizing. Any self respecting and good constructor should charge AT least $1000 in labor. If they're charging you less and not your brother or best friend, then you're probably the guinea pig for them. A Vermont Sports Car cage can cost around $5000. Again it depends on what your plans with the car are. Serious competition means serious cage. Weekend autocrosser that you want to make look cooler => less cage. Cheaping on a cage in a serious competition car is similar to putting stock brakes with Auto Zone pads on a 450 hp DSM.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Ultimate Performance in Sterling, VA charges 200.00 per point when they build them.

Gary [the guy I bought my 2.0 Colt from] has a nice cage that was built by Xotic Motorsports. www.xoticmotorsports.com

Here's the direct URL to the Coltl Cage pics..... http://www.xoticmotorsports.com/gallery/ColtCage

Here's some nice pics :P

Not a bad looking cage at all. I used to have pictures of mine online, but I don't have webspace right now.

BTW are the ones forsale in the first link.. in the first post.. for 4door or hatches??

Ayways shipping for me would end up being the cost of the cage itself... living in hawaii sucks! Yeah a friend does cages.. I haven't seen one that he's done yet.. but I would deff inspect before I buy... And I won't be doing serious competition.. as there is none here besides drag.. No roads to rally, and only autox stuff.. nothing major... I just want to feel a little bit safer in such a small colt HB....
