Rally North America’s “2012 Rally Dixie”
June 18-21, 2012

""1300 miles driving some of the most scenic roads in the country, surrounded by eighty plus sports cars, muscle cars, and other unique rides, searching for secret check points at incredible places; this is Rally Dixie 2012. Rally Dixie 2012 features 80 teams of two or more people, three racing venues, (Autocross in Nobleville IN, Clarksville Speedway & Dragway, and Talladega Superspeedway) thirty six stops at historical or scenic locations, and one great end of rally party to be held at The Ramada Beach Resort in Fort Walton Beach Florida. Established in the winter of 2009, Rally North America Charities is a not-for-profit organization, aimed at bringing automotive enthusiasts from all over the United States and Canada, together for the purpose of Auto rallying. Each rally organized by Rally North America carries a common idea, driving for a cause. RNA believes that by combining the love of the automotive lifestyle and a worthy charity organization, it is possible to do something “good” through the automotive hobby. The 2012 Rally Dixie charity partner is Accelerated Cure Project."

I procured one of those 80 spots for my 1989 Mirage Turbo (Team Econobox, #122), so here I am, asking for some support/sponsorship on this endeavor.

The car is probably the best known Turbo Mirage on the internet, thanks to the last owner, Tom Tharp. I purchased this car from him as a roller a few years back and have modified it almost back to the level that he once had it.The overall mods include: built engine, FP2 Cams, FP68HTA, FP Race Manifold, DSM Link V2, Cyclone intake, FIC 950s, etc. While the car is running well and I've currently been daily driving it, I still have a good bit of work/upgrades I want to handle before the race, including a Cyborg Body treatment, suspension work, and refinishing a set of TE37's that I have for it.

A few pictures of my car can be seen here.

My co-pilot will be Aaron Anderson from Anderson, IN; he is a regular on the 4g61t.org forum, and has an AWD swapped Colt. He should be handy to have around given his pre-existing knowledge of the car in general.

We already have the entry fee paid and the hotel rooms reserved. The "Event Sponsor" stickers go on the car first, then everything else is considered open real estate.

From the RNA forum - "We have over 250 media outlets to contact for our 2012 event (The list is growing daily). It's a good bet that many of these contacts from newspaper, radio & TV will be covering our teams as we roll into their prospective towns." So not only will it be a great cause, your sponsorship will actually be seen.

More information on the event, and other events to come can be found at,
http://www.rallynorthamerica.com/

Donations will work two ways. You can donate directly to the charity via our team website (which still needs a little work) or myself or Aaron will be accepting donations for team expense, EITHER donation will get your stickers on my car. I don't feel right on placing a price on size and location of the sponsorship stickers, but be logical/fair with your offers please.

Donations to the Team Econobox website will determine where we start in the race, teams with the most donations get to choose what Pole Position they want. I pledged to raise $1000 for this event, but I feel we can do much better than that. Dontations can be made at
https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/ ... rica-dixie

Thanks everyone, if you have any questions please feel free to ask or PM me; I'll do the best I can to get back to you soon."

Mirage is running, just gave to figure our why the wideband is throwing "low input voltage" code, and the temp gauge is reading over heat while the tuning software says I'm good. I have a suspicion they are linked to the same problem.
