The most importand thing with changing the offset of wheels is the scrub radius. I am not going to explain it all as a google search will net good results.

But with changes to the scrub radius you can see broken steering parts and the scariest part is what can happen to your car if you break a axle and only put power down with 1 tire..

Not to mention the extra load on ball joints, wheel bearings, lugs...etc.

As a long time racer i very much understand scrub radius and that is what makes the Infiniti wheels so good . The Infiniti rims are 6 '' wide while being centered the same as stock or in lay terms wider on both sides (inside and out ) equally from stock with lots of clearance if you are running 1G Talon suspension .

So looking from the chart, AE86 wheels will fit on a 3rd gen CSM?

No, they just have the the same bolt pattern. The offset will not work.

Due to rule changes for 2009 we will be running 13x6 or 13x7 steel rims with 205x60 tires . That gives us a tire about 22.7 diameter and running 2nd gear redlines right at the end of the strait on a 3/8 oval , Most people are running the 14x195 Falken Azena but that wont let us turn enough RPM @ 23.4 in diameter .

I have to buy two full sets of wheels to start the season with so it is a sizable investment . The best wheels i have found so far are
http://www.diamondracingwheels.com/ministock.html
The 7 " wheels are only 13 lbs and their 6 " wheels are only 11 lbs

Anyone know of better or lighter steel rims available in this size ?

Those are badass rims. They look race. I have never heard of a rim that size being that light. I will be ordering a pair soon! :D

On a side note, what size tires would you recommend for the 13x7 rims, on a street car? This is for my 89 Mirage Turbo hatchback. Thanks for any help. :D

I don't think you can fit 13's over the factory turbo brakes. The rims are only that light because they are teenie tiny.

Really? I'm guessing that 1.5L 13" rims won't fit on a 89 turbo mirage as well? Can anyone verify this? How could I know if a 13" rim will fit on my car... measure the whole brake assembly in diameter and if it is less than 13" then I will be ok? Thanks for any help. :)

You have to take into account the size of the caliper. The stock 14's look like a pretty tight fit in there, I suppose it's possible that you could get a 13" to fit, but why? It will look ridiculous unless you're a hardcore road-racer or maybe you need rims to fit slicks on.

Well, I guess I'm really not concerned about them being little. I just like the way the look, the steelie look. Also because they are 7" wide. I dunno... It's just something different I guess. :)

You can get those wheels in other sizes other than 13", they are extremely common especially in circle-track and dirt-track racing.

In fact, go to page 1, the first topic of this thread and you will see what I'm talking about.

Alright, well does anyone know if the 14x7 Challenger series would fit on my 89 Mirage Turbo? I think I can get it with a 4x114.3 pattern... Thanks for any help. :D

You have to get the backspacing right. Backspacing is the same thing as offset, only they do it in inches instead of millimeters. I think 1.5" of backspacing is about the same as a 38mm offset. The beauty of the Diamond wheels is you can have them in any bolt pattern, any backspacing, and almost any size. The issue is they're steel, which means they're damn heavy.
