I am currently getting the aging suspention sorted out on my car. I purchased AWD Agx's for price I could not turn up. I know the rears need a bushing to make them work.

I know Koni's are preffered but I will be using these.

My question is has anyone used these with stock springs from an AWD? I know if I use my stock turbo colt springs the back will sit lower and the car will not be level due to the rear spring perch.

I am looking for stock ride height as this is my dailey driver.
I really don;t want to cut any coils off either.

Also does anyone think evo 8 springs will work?

If none of the above options are viable then I will have to get GC's.

Even though th AGX's were picked up for a great price, they aren't great for what you need. They are a cheap alternative for our cars but, they WONT give you the stock ride height

With Colt springs
With 1G AWD/FWD springs
With Galant VR4 springs
With EVO8 springs

I would strongly suggest that if you want stock ride height, to sell them and make up the difference and get some KONI YELLOWS

Sorry man :-?

Thanks for the info Geoff.

If I still wanted to used the AGX's, I know they will lower the car 2" in the back. Is there a spring that I could use to make the car sit level even though its lowered. I assume BG or Whiteline maybe?

If not my only options are to use ground controls or use Koni's in the rear.

I know Nate's car had AGX's but I don't recall which springs he used.

No there is not spring to make it sit stock as the strut is physically shorter than a colt strut its one of thoes you can there from here things AGXs are garbage anyways get Konis and be done with it..

Thanks again for the info guys. I will search around for specs on Nate Phars old colt.

Looks like coil overs are the only way to use these.

I think the only way to stay with AGXs in the rear is to use the stock 1G AWD springs. But then you're stuck with a crappy spring rate.

I switched to GR2s in the rear, along with Tenzo-R GF2 springs for a 1G FWD (with AGX up front), and the car handles AWESOME. Not bouncy, not too stiff, and it's not slammed. I can't be happier.

Scott thanks for the info on your setup, I remember reading about it when I was searching.

I believe Bosco has Nate's old car. I found his post that it has AGX's but no info on springs.

I will PM him to find out.

Thanks again.

okay . im bringing this thread back because i have just bought 4 agx for awd talon , now i know its not the best , but its the only thing in my reach. konis are out if my league, how come no one has mentionned an awd eaibach pro kit or sport kit. Is it because my rears will sit way too low ?

If someone has a setup with agx , pls share what you did, any body bought some ground control , ive hear it was a good way too goo. ??

Talontsi-just go to the junkyard and get some springs from awd rear to go with your agx. 2" drop and level. While your there, get the stock struts too, then you won't have to separate springs and you will have a better ride. This is what I'm using and works fine. Some people have said AGX's are too stiff for our cars.

I have awd tel agx's front and rear, on 1g tel sprint springs.

I had to weld a new lower strut mount on the rear beam axle to accomodate the shorter awd strut. From there it was straight forward.

I ride with the rear on the softest setting, and find its just bearable to drive around in, it does get annoying if you drive the car as a daily driver, but mine is a weekend car, so i can cope with the stiff ride. With the rear setting to medium or stiffer, the rear can literally bounce around a corner if its uneven ground, ie. train or streetcar tracks(we have both here in our city(Toronto).)

I have gr2's in my c10, and i find them to be quite soft(front and rear), I should have gone with the gas-a-just model from kyb. I had just rear kyb gas-a-just's and found they are much stiffer than gr2's.(later learned they spec them to be stiffer than gr2's)

My suggestion is if they make the kyb gas-a-just, go with those and mate with eibach pro kit tel springs, or even h&r springs. Not sure what is available nowadays. I have had my suspension for over two years, so it might be outdated.

hope this helps.

I spoke to Nate and his car has GVR4 HR's. I am thinking about trying stock EVO8 springs and cutting the fronts down.
or just using the rears and getting lowering springs for the front only (max 2" to match the rear agx's).
