Well, I was searching some customs suspension sites and this popped up:

http://www.streetrodderstuff.com/parts.htm

If the adjustable rods were longer - or were welded together, we could get the length we need to replace the setup underneath the C50,60,70,80 series frames that we have.

Anyone done the measurement of the stock piece? Socrateez and his setup comes to mind on this one, as he has a custom bar already done up and put to good use. I am intent on getting a custom panhard rod done up to save my suspension from shunting my axle out the side of the car one day. Heck, while I'm in there I should be beefing up the mount of the panhard mounting plates to the body. You can never have too much over engineering in something that needs to stay put.

Anyone have a supplier North of the US that they use? Ontario? I know someone out there has built a car for their SAE University program setup or something.

Just found this from Whiteline which illustrates exactly what I should be checking for with a 2"+ drop with the wheels factored in (although tire height alone does not affect the axle side movement just by putting the shorter wheel/tire combo on.

http://www.whiteline.com.au/default.asp ... iews03.htm

Whiteline has all kinds of obscure references concerning their adjustable panhard rod, but for the life of me I cannot find a link to one. The review link above is for the Comodore crowd over in Australia but something similar must be available from them. I figure if I can get one to add to the Group Buy, all the better as the car will be tarped until spring. :(

hey tim

I have made a adjustable panhard bar, not to hard. similar to the first listed site. I used soild metal round bar with threads tapped into each end. then swivel or more like spehical bearings in the end with a stud attached. and of course the locking nut.

not to hard to make, but the whiteline product is also really really nice.

your choice, i can help you out no problem

Jeff

I made an adjustable panhard rod, it works well at the track because the alignment is dead on now.

Pics are good, but maybe you would know where the Colemanracing.com site has stashed the items you were linking to in the panhard rod thread? I've search under all the relevant areas I could think of, but nuttin'. Thank you for the help by the way. If it becomes too much to assembly one of these bars, I'll probably grab a Whiteline panhard rod. Nothing beats custom but ..... I need to make the next deadline to order it at about $150 US plus shipping, or the price shoots back up to over $200 US.

I think this is the right bar.

Unfortunately there isnt enough of a description and the pic sucks. I will check the part numbers next week when I get home. I use this:

for my steering and these parts are great too.

honestly, these guys are incredibly nice and you can just call them and tell them what you want and they will give you all the pn's.

I also came across this. You should probably read it.

One you select a rod, just order the appropriate rod ends, and if needed some reducers.

Great post Chris, I'll have some reading to do soon. By the way, did you play with the mounting points (up/down) on your rally cars? Just curious if was something you attempted.
