2 months ago i replaced the ECU on my Colt and it fixed the problem right up... suck part is that now it seems to have happened again... i need to know what to look for as to why my ECU is dead again.... any and all ideas welcome... Thanx |

But after only 2 months... it cant be that bad of a defect... would this be a problem if i parkedthe car and it wouldnt turn on again after 2 hours? got spark... got engine turn... just no boom |

It might be the caps. Those commonly go bad. You might want to replace those. It's pretty inexpensive. |

Why not? all these ECUs are the same age 12+ years old yes its definetly the caps every ECU has faulty caps its not a matter if they die its when they die... fix the caps fixes the problem...

I will not dispute the cap issue, had it happen to me twice. Another thing that might be frying the ECU is the ISC. If your car has a bad idle and you do not replace the ISC then yes this can fry the ECU. |
