Post subject:  Head Gasket Replacement

hey Guys,

Just wondering, how hard is it to replace the head gasket in a 1.5 automatic? I might have a leak and I know it's a do-it-yourself job, therefore I'll be at it. Is it a headache? Let me know from your experiance, and anything i should know that can cause an issue later. Thanks!

Sounds like my car a year and a half ago. Ah, the memories...

Anyways, it's pretty easy. Don't forget the friggin O2 line. It's best to have this disconnected before you're standing there, hunched over the engine with the head assy in your hands thinking "oops :o why won't it come further?"

Port matching?

You're resurfacing the head right? Don't rely on a new gasket to do the trick, get the head "skimmed" at the least. And as far as bolts are concerned, I dunno if these are stretch bolts or not. I reused mine and torqued them a little higher. It's been fine so far.
