I got a book that's titled "Turbocharge Anything." I was wonderin, should I even take the time to try and turbo my 4g15 and do a write up? I mean its something my dad and I have been thinking over for a long a$$ time and I've got other ideas for major power boost on the 4g15. But my main question is the turbo part, should I put the time into it? |

rpw dont recommend it for some 4G15's, but running low boost you should be right |

The 4g15 in my summit runs at 9.2:1 compression, I think that's a bit much for turbocharging isn't it? |

IMO I think youd be better off tryin to make the 4g15 all motor than turbo.... boost would probably kill it but some nice cams... x1 pistons some porting and a few other things.... maybe even some nitrous and it would be a decent motor but thats just my 2 cents |

i guess you just have to ask yourself what it is you want from your car and then ask if this route will get you what you want. |

i'd go for it! i was thinking about turboing my 4g15 for a little extra kick in the future unless i get this new job and can afford 2 4g63t powered cars. |

biuld and tune it right, it should take a decent bit but unles you get some better internals, i dont ever see over 10psi IMHO |

That would be a waste of time and money. You would probably be disapointed with the results. Just do the swap. |

Ricehunter turboed his 4G15. He ran IIRC less than 8 psi of boost. OTOH, some member of this board had 4G61T pistons in his 4G15. Maybe that's a way to use the strong turbo pistons in a little G15. But w/ all those mods around, 110 HP are realistically for just NA mods. |

yeah, but I'm not the one that will be spending the money (well not compleatly), my dad and I are both wanting to do this and no matter what I'm still gettin the 4g63 out of the eclipse. I'm just going to do it. I don't think its going to be all that hard with an uncle around willing to let me use his shop. The only problem I see with this is the fact that i have to figure out the tunning so nothing goes wrong. My uncle knows how to get the compression right to run a turbo so I can have him do that part. I talked to him yesterday about this and he told me that the 4g15 is capable of running a turbo like the small sohc in them Hondas. |
