I have a 4g15 1990 colt hb, and well...... one battery is GONE, it's swelled, and leaks acid like a freshly cut throat.... I put another battery on, as my other one couldn't turn over the motor, when checking how much volts were passing back to the battery, I got readings of 18 volts!!!!, this is bad, and I need to know would be wrong?

Alternator?

Power regulator of some sort?

HELP!

Thanks. -Andrew

I just got over that same problem, ha ha. I had a dead engine. I replaced the battery then a few months passed and she went dead again then I got pissed and broke something on my dash and took it over to my uncles and he told me my alternator wasn't charging my battery so I replaced that and then it went dead again so it was off to my uncles and, whats this?! my alternator went dead.... again (never buy you parts from Schucks, there name fits them) anywho, I replaced it again and the only problem i was having is the alternaton keeps wanting to come loose but that was fixed yesterday. Man that was a pain in the a$$.
