Maybe 1 or 2 horsepower at the most. It'll free up some air flow though. Depends on how much you hack it/if you did other things to bring colder air to it, shielded it from engine heat, etc.

Hacking the air box or hacking the air mass sensor?
Hacking the air box just allows the air filter to be exposed to more air , hacking the airmass sesnor does allow for more air to enter and add more power, especially when you start to run more boost.
As to how much power that all depends on how much boost, what turbo, etc...

A hacked air box hacked air mass sesnsor and a K&N air filter should be a nice 10-15HP add on a stock car.

This link shows how to hack the air box and install the K&N:
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/filter-print.html

This link shows how to emove the honey comb filter in the air mass:
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/filter-print.html

This link shows how to hack the air mass sensor, just read everything before you do it:
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/MAFhack.html

This link shows how to install a 2nd gen air mass sesnor into a 1st gen Eclipse, directions will work for a Mirage also:
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/2GMAF-1G.html

This link tells you how to build a cold air intake box for $2.00 cant beat that:

Hope al this helps, and if you want other mods try the www.vfaq.com.
