Hey guys.. my gf has a 93 mirage with the 1.5 and the god awful 3spd tranny. its on its last legs.. completely trashed. 2 weeks ago it was slipping 1 week ago it stopped slipping, but reverse went out today reverse is back and the car does not move forward fast enough to safely drive on the road. anyway.. im ready to get rid of this 3 speed piece of trash.. as i've seen a bunch of 4spd cars in the junkyards.. is it a simple job? unbolt the 3 speed, bolt up the 4 speed? i'm assuming the shifter linkage might need to be changed (PRND21 -> PRND321).. but other than that, is there anything else I should know? for instance.. is the tranny computer controlled.. will i need to swap ECMs or anything? thanks guys. |

you need the TCU, shifter assembly.....and that is all i know that you should need for now. |

And the tranny and MAYBE a tranny mount however I'm not sure...
