Szymon, looks like you got the wrong wires. Resistance should change when the throttle is moved. Maybe it was wires 1 & 3 or something.

How exactly do i check the TPS sensor and if it's operation properly. I have the proper tools to do it........ but Im not sure where it's located. Just want to check all these things to see whats causing my RPM drops.... It still may be a vacuum leak......but I'd check this first since I have the tools. |

The TPS is located just next to the butterfly. It is black or brown/black w/ a plug from which 3 wires go away. While it's not the officiall method for checking the TPS, this one worked perfectly for me, because the official method won't tell you if the TPS has intermittand contact issues: Quote: To check a TPS, use an analog ohm meter (you know, those w/ a needle rather than LCD) and check the resistance while having someone depressing tha throttle slowly. The resistance should change accordingly to the throttle movement. Any large needle deflections mean the TPS is partially bad.
Edit: IIRC you should measure resistance between pins 1 and 2. Those are the two just next to each other.

I'll foot this next part Eth, the TPS is located on the side of the throttle body, first piece of metal you run into after the rubber hose running from your air filter canister.... I tested my TPS and the ohm meter read 4.5 ohms when the throttle was closed. I then slowly depressed the throttle and the ohm's stayed the same. I also had 5 volts to the TPS (The cable coming into the TPS.) Does this mean the TPS is good or bad? Does it need any adjusting? Thanks! |

Crackerman said "set it to 1.1 ohms at closed throttle(witha slight amount of slack in throttle cable, so cable isn't holding throttle open) using a mulitimeter" This quote is from the other post (with the link) My ohms are at .9. Now, do you think this affects the RPM's this much. I could set that so it'll be 1.1 but....... might it make a difference and won't make these RPM's drop so drastically when switching into gear? Let me know, and tell me if I should set them to 1.1 ohms from this .9 ohms that i have. |

.2 of an ohm I believe should be fine probably just meter being out of calibration (either yours or who ever did the reading the first time) |

Measure the output voltage w/ ignition on and engine not running. W/ closed throttle, it should be 0.48 - 0.52 Volts. |
