Post subject:  rpm problem!

What should my rpm's be at when my car is in neutral and drive? When my car is in park or neutral it runs at about 1500 rpm when I put into drive or reverse it drops down to 700 rpm and sometimes stalls out. i have already replaced my cap, rotor, wires, and plugs. Do you think it could be due to a glogged fuel filter? Im also thinking about checking my compression. I'm not sure if i have somthing wrong internaly. Does any one have any other suggestions on what to check? Thanks!!!

no smartass it sounds like your in neutral with the park brake on in a manual transmission vehicle. if you want help dont be a moron, he could have freaked on you and told you to do a search. which is what im doing now.

No, it sounds like an automatic. I've never heard of engine rpm dropping when the parking brake is released, nor have I EVER seen a manual trans with Drive as a gear option.

Perhaps you should be doing a little better reading before running your mouth off?

And if you want to help, don't berate other members by calling them morons or smartasses and meaning it.

Sorry for the bluntness, but I really think that was uncalled for.

Evotistical: nothing against you, you just asked a question.

Better smartass than dumb@ss. :P
Back to topic. Skrenos' idea probably isn't that bad. Although I have my doubts changing the tranny fluid will solve this issue, it's always a good idea.

Tranny fluid has just been changed since I just placed a new tranny into it on Sunday. The fluid is an awesome red color....and I hope it'll stay this way. It still is red. So no worries about the fluid.....I just did a drain myself on it on sunday.
