Probably you have an A/F ration of 14:1 or so @ WOT instead of 13.0:1. I'd really like to try the 4G63 SOHC. The injectors are good for almost 150HP @ 70% duty cycle. Also, driving should be somewhat smoother. However, the spark & fuel maps are probably totally wrong. The 4G37 should be better suited. But hey, how about a G4CS MAF on a 4G37 ECU? Should work somewhat better I think. |

I'm not leaning to motor my O2 voltage is right on par .92v or so... Well if I can find a some ECUs that are eprom it can all be fixed we know how fuel and timing and all that is done by ECU it is within our grasp... |

Seems to me that would indicate a rich condition rather than lean. .92 is almost at the end of the 1v operating range.

From what I read during a WOT run .9-.92 is exactly where you want to tune your car for... |

Yep. I've done wrong w/ that 14:1 crap. The O2 sensor can read from lambda 0.9 to 1.05 (A/F 13.23:1 to 15.44). Maybe the car was running w/ lambda=0.85 (A/F 12.5, mixture is getting somewhat hard to ignite below that), as Jason once suggested. Could be it is now running @ 13.3 or something just on the edge of the sensor being able to measure. |

Hey guys, if the 4G63 SOHC stuff works, this may be the perfect ECU upgrades for turborized 4G15s. I came up w/ this when calculating the possible power from the 240ccm injectors and wondering what that much power could be used for... and then I remembered Ricehunter's 4G15T manifold. |

I installed the injectors and maf from a 1.8l sohc today! There were idle issues at first but after comparing MAF's i found a solution. I plugged the small holes in the sides of the maf and it runs fine. A little rough at first. Going to drive it for a few days so the ECU can adjust. Seems to offer more bottom end umph. This is definately a doable mod! Check out this post to see what i mean about the holes: http://www.4g61t.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6523 Next is to find a ECU! |

I have one, let me know.I'll keep you in mind if i dont find one at work! So far the only prob ive noticed is at idle it seems a little lean . However, i a few other problems to sort out that are unrelated to this mod. May run better with the 1.8l ecu. My idle has been surging, have a miss, and A/F guage reads oddly at times. Gonna check temp sensors, ISC, and swap ecu. These started before i did this mod. Question: is there any difference between the Mitsubishi and Hyundai ECU pin outs? |

Pin outs for what? the ECU? ISC? Temp sensors? |

Sorry. I meant is there any difference in the wiring leading to the ECU between a Mitsubishi and Hyundai 1.8l wiring. Also i was looking at the Ecu plugs on a 4g15 and they seem to have some different wires in different places than the Mitsubishi 1.8l |

What 1.8 were you looking at? The 4g67 the 4g37? the 4g93? The only one I know fits is the 4g37 out of old talons the 1.8's from Elantras are distributorless definetly won't fit and 4g93s also do not work... 4g37 is our only option... |

One thing I didn't think about on the G4CSmotor is the timing belt mount as its not the DOHC cam it may or may not fit i'm sure if it didn't it would be a very minor mod for anyone considering to do it it would have to be thought about at least. I almost want to buy another Colt for Cheap and try this simple swap and see how well it works.... |
