but both are for the 1.5 NA engine? and only half an inch different. Anyone has compared this or seen one.

Woops, I am thinking if you were using the swap parts to suit the KM210 or F5M3X transmissions.

Likely all the smaller clutches and flywheels will have crossover on the 4g15 side (5 bolt crank)and smaller bellhousings. Just have to be careful of release bearing/Fork setups.

If you had the parts side by side, and were allowed to return them to the store if they did not fit properly, the you could confirm it for everyone.

IF the flywheel design allows it, and the clutch plates setup will bolt up/align with the dowels, AND the TOB style works, then it should work in theory.

I'd say no.

the 5 bolt 4g15 pressure plate / fltwheel will only take the smaller disk.

I don't believe the bell-housing is removable. For the FWD transmissions it is a full case

what would be the difference between the two since both are 1.5L Non turbo w/ 5 speed manual.

Here's the clutch friction plate for the 1.5L 1991 Colt, fits nearly everything from the 1970's to the mid 1990's.

https://shop.exedyusa.com/exedy-oem/exe ... 94128.aspx

Why the need for a larger diameter friction plate? Yes, it may give you more options for material changes to increase power holding, but those transmissions won't last behind the torque input you might be inquiring about going to.

I was just thinking that a larger plate will improve shifting and will hold better and have more grip since it has more face(disc) coverage. maybe im wrong.

Shifting speeds will likely only be affected by a lighter weight flywheel (of which the 4g61t design could be, 4g15 maybe ever so slightly).

Full face OEM style organic clutch plates/wave springs/engagement springs, all things considered, nothing would be changing there. Same clutch "feel" and engagement characteristics.

If you went with a higher torque capacity pressure plate, then you would be taxing the stock hydraulic system just like everyone else does with ACT HD/2100+ setups.

Anything less than braided steel lines, perfect geometry and OEM hydraulics will yield less than stellar results in that case. Such has been my experience.

There technically isn't any need to change anything unless you have a very specific driving style (or for some, proper lack there of) and a reputable clutch shop and or manufacturer can recommend a hand picked/created upgrade for you.

What kind of driving does the car see and what motor combination does it have? The clutch plate you have in stock form, is supposed to hold behind 1.8 and 2.0L motors per EXEDY's page. That is a fair bit more torque and weight than your car has.

That would set you back 250-$500+ US with all components factored in.
