OK, this is what we got so far to free some more ponies:

Rising compression ration to 10.5:1 by using Excel X1 pistons

This all -except the turbocharging - should give you some realistic 25-30HP. The turbo could give you easily 20-30 HP more.

Did I forget anything?
so you can use the x1 pistons to up compression to 10.5:1 AND turbo???

You *could* but you'd want to be damn sure about your tuning as any detonation would destroy those pistons as they aren't particularly strong. IMHO you'd be better off sticking with stock compression if you intend to turbocharge the motor using stock pistons and even then no more than 12psi (with an intercooler).

i didn't think it would be very wise. i just wanted it to be clear for anyone else reading this post.
what would yeild a higher gain....10.5:1 compression, and other mods mentioned

so with the new forum paths, it seems none of those links in the first post work anymore?

could someone perhaps fix them up so new folks still running the 4G15 can get at the information a little easier?

Hey as far as turning the cam timing back one tooth, how much do I have to shave off of my distributor to be able to make 7* BTDC? Is 7* better than running 5* BTDC? I'm asking because I'm about to install my timing belt.

When I was reading I saw about 1/4" you need to make the hole bigger. I personally would go as far ass I can without opening the hole all the way through... If that makes any sense. Next weekend I will do this because I am getting a new timing belt. But right now I advanced the timing on the distributor as far as it goes, and I'm running premium and the 4G37 goodies. I'm hoping that with the cam timing trick I will actually feel more of a power increase.

BY THE WAY:

Relieve the pressure in the cooling system BEFORE swapping the throttle body. I got sprayed with moderately warm coolant.

mandrel bent piping, which is better 2" or 2.25" diameter for the 4g15

I would go with 2" to keep the velocity.

does anyone do and fabricate SS downpipe for the CSM? specially on the curve bend where the pipe turns and up to rear bar to reach the muffler.

Nobody makes anything specific for a csm, at least not these days.
