So I've read how people have used stock 1.5 radiators etc when doing 4g63 swaps, but i was wondering if anyone has ever used other radiators as stock replacements since the 3gs are getting hard to find?

My radiator is leaking, I havn't located the actual spot, but the bottom of the radiator where the plastic meets the metal is puddling coolant, and then dripping as that over flows.

Normally I would just throw a radiator from a talon in and call it a day, but they dont have radiator caps that i know of, and then I'd have no way to add coolant. I havn't looked at any 4g radiators in a long time, but I think they had radiators with caps. If so, would that work? Looks like i'll be spending my x-mas money on a radiator LOL. Just my luck.

I know one 3g at the yard had a radiator that i took the temp sensor out of, but I never checked it over for damage.

Any info is greatly appreciated, and any ideas as well. Noobs at work tell me to use stop leak to get through the holidays, but after all the time i've spent flushing the cooling system from the trashed head/head gasket when i got the car, I dont feel like it would be worth the time doing that.

Couldn't you just cut the upper radiator hose and stick one of those radiator cap aluminum pipe splices in it?

That's what I've done. I'm using a rad from some sort of Neon (2000? not sure), with an inline rad filler cap setup in the top hose. Seems to work ok.

Great deal from 89Mirageman!!!! :xmas:

For reference in my members thread, you can see where I compared three brands of radiators.

You can use a Spectra Premium CU234 radiator as it has the dual fitting; upper connectino is a small end for the smaller fitment hoses and push a larger hose on further and it necks up to the turbo/1.6/2.0L hose size.

See the side profile (3rd pic) and you can see what I mean about dual hose fitment.

I ran an ebay "honda" radiator for most of the time before I got a scirocco radiator. I ran with two radiator caps too. lol

I run a galant vr4 radiator. Had to move the lower mounts to the upper holes. Everything else lined up!

I'm running a 91' Galant 2.0 SOHC radiator, pretty much straight swap and thicker than the 1.5L from CSMs
