Ok guy heres whats going on....after me and my dad hooked the colt back up and see how it ran...well it seems like the timing was off. So we checked...and checked...and check....and checked but the timing was off every time...so we took the crank pully off and lines the timing marks up on the crank sprocket and cam sprocket, put when we put the pully on, the timing notch on the pulle was a good inch off from where its supposed to be! is it possible the crack pulley finally said "no mas" from it having 282,000 miles on it? i noticed there was rubber between the outside and inside of the pulley
and if this is the case what other engines share the same pulley as the 4g15?

2 things that I can think of.

The crank pulley has seperated between the rubber part and the other side. The crank pulley should only fit on one way anyways with that little roll pin.

You put the big washer like thing (that has the timing mark on it) on upside down. I did this once and everything was way out of whack.

the marks are good but the pulley is the only thing off.....but your guess is just like mine the inner and outer seperated and its time for a new one.

yep, the crank pulley is shot. Both halves slipped and now your timing mark is off.
