Quick question for you guys, I need a 89-92 5 speed Colt ECU ASAP. Can I can use another ECU to replace it, will an 89-92 Auto ECU work? Any other year of Colt work? There are a few 88s around and a 93, would those swap in?

Auto ECU will work in a 5 speed car. 89-92.

88's are C10, most likely not and you will be lucky to find it inside and without bad caps. 93 is MAP based and completely different at the connectors and inner workings unfortunately.
Junkyard finds are exceedingly rare for these cars here in Canada, much less for their ECU's. Best to find a running pile, and salvage the bits from it. Mandatory CAPs replacement regardless of where you get your ECU. Auto = yes, as was stated above. 89-92 C50/60 (hatch/sedan) series cars; Mirage, Summit, Colt.

Hi,
I don't know why you North Americans bother with ECUs on these cars. In UK they all run on carbs. Much more reliable than 20 year old electronics. If you want I can help to locate carbs and distributors with vacuum advance/retard which will allow you to ditch the electronics completely and run with simple, mechanical setup.

Still have it. Its from 91 plymouth colt, 5 speed. I switched the ecu housing when I did my swap. So the colts ecu core is in the 1g ecu case. I switched so it would bolt in the colt.

All 1988+ Colts/Summits from what I can tell, were ECI Multi-port fuel injected and as such we have no supply of carby parts.
Sure there are carby parts from the earlier models but it is only the ECU and distributors that were wonky on these cars, so CAPS replacements are mandatory.

king,
PMd again... can send a prepaid label and some extra dough for your trouble. Thx; LMK.

Here's at least one dual carb set-up, surely an early non North American 4515 variant. Those nutso Pacific Islanders! :D
Volume Warning: Throaty carb sounds may not be safe for work, depending on your proximity to boss.
