Did the engine spin after you tried to restart it? Have you removed the timing belt cover plastic? Is the belt still attached? How much oil and coolant are in their pan/reservoir? Any codes? |

Yes timing belt is still attached I'll let them check the oil level later but is there any possibility of not starting if oil is not on min level sir? Also ask them to start the car and check if the engine is spinning when start. Sorry but I'm not with my CSM right now because I work on other country but I'll let my wife and father-in-law DO all the things you'll suggested here. CODES? I don't have device for the codes reader sir. How can I know the codes? Thanks alot for quick response |

Engine if seized would not spin at all, or starter would make a bad jamming sound. This assumes no oil in the engine and the car running long enough to seize a bearing/s. Worst case, not likely if there is no leak and you don't have a large blue cloud behind the car when driving. Make sure the timing belt moves properly when the engine in cranking over. If it slipped loose, it may look funny when rotating. Codes can be pulled from the DLC (data link connector just above the drivers left foot near the fuses). http://www.stealth316.com/2-diagcodes91-93.htm Don't think the car will have a code, but it might have set one just before stalling. Can pull the ECU and check the ECU capacitors for bad smell and leaking, unless you know the capacitors have been changed and the board is good - you live in a hot climate. |

i had a promblem like that, it died as i was parking i tried to restart right after and nothing, but restarted after i was in the store for about 20 minutes. then one morning nothing. it ended up being a dead cell in my battery, replaced it and started right up. the volt meter read the battery was fine, but put a load tester on the battery and it confrimed a bad battery. |
