I have a 92 dodge colt gl hatch back with the 4g15 engine and trans-axle f5m21

So I think that my timing belt slipped I downloaded a manual but it was not for my var and nor I'm having trouble getting the step by step to change my timing belt.

Big question is do I have to remove the crank pulley on this engine and do I have to remove the drivers side motor mount to get the belt of?

Not really. Those manuals are all we really have. They are full of really useful specs on how to correctly do a task.

well do I start by removing the pulley or the motor mount.

Please don't take this the wrong way but you'd be better off either paying someone to do the job for you or have someone with some experience walk you through it.

But to answer your question, put a small block of wood under the oil pan and then jack up the engine. Once you have tension on the engine you can remove the engine mount. Then you can lower the engine down and remove the crank pulley.

Thanks for the input and I have done a fair amount of car repairs on my old BMW i put a new transmission in and replaced the the rear suspension, i pretty much put the top end back on a Toyota supra the owner was a good friend but he was kinda incompetent so i ended up putting his car back together it was in pieces when he bought it. So that being said no offense taken, I'm just looking for some guidance on where to start. I might make a step by step with video to help the next person. Tomorrow i will start and post my progress if nothing comes up, thanks for the input again and peace out :axe: :weedman:

That seems to have ended all advice input, I don't want to get off on the wrong foot here I was just trying to say I think I can do this job and that I have done much more complicated jobs. I'm just one of them peoplef that likes to know exactly what he needs to do before he does it.

Here in Oregon we are having a late bit of bad weather so I have not got out there to start this yet once the weather gets better I will get started.

I still would like any advice and input that can be spared I want to do this job right, I'm also thinking of doing the sabb ignition coil conversion and the 50 mm throttle body at the same time or shortly there after so any advice on those topics would be appreciated as well. thanks and peace out

So I got out there and started my first question is when removing the motor mount is removing the two bolts and two nuts on the top of the motor mount all that is needed or do I have to remove more of the mount?
Second do I need to remove both pulleys they both look to be in the way of the timing belt cover coming off, or does the cover come of in two pieces and does the belt snake around the upper pulley?

Should be some bolts in the body and a few on the mount. Then you can pull it up and out. The cover may come off without taking the pulleys off but it would probably be a good idea to take them off. Especially if the engine is still in the engine bay.

There figured out how to get my location onto my profile, now back to important stuff I need better advice than that manual it does not even show the removal of the motor mount so if any one could answer my last couple of questions that would be cool do I have to remove the motor mount or is separating it good enough, and do I have to take the pulleys of or can it be done with both pulleys still on the car. I thought that the bottom one at least had to come off so that the belt could come out. Let the input flow please peace out
