Instead of fixing my '92 Summit I'm thinking about buying a '89 Colt with the 8V motor. Will I be disappointed with the overall performance
of the 8V after driving 12V for awhile? Any difference in reliability?

The difference is like 9hp, I doubt you'll notice any difference. You'd notice a big difference changing from a 5spd to a 4spd IMO though.

What do you mean, is better de 4 speed?
